Busy times for Getyoo, soon to be released !

The last couple of months have been very busy for Getyoo. Soon, we’ll be releasing our platform to the public and our team is working day and night to get everything ready for the release date that will be announced shortly. We’re hot as “une baraque à frites” as we say in Belgium! (a kind of small trailer car selling Belgian Fries that look like this)

In addition to the hard work in our offices, we’ve also been present on many events. After WIF Belgium on the 5th of March, the belgian webjam competition of the Webdesign International Festival in Limoges, we went to Barcelona to attend the Mobile Premier Awards as we had been nominated for an Award in Innovation. We had won the MobileMonday Belgian chapter for most innovative startup with 73 % of the votes. Last week we spent the whole week at CeBIT 2010 in Germany, were we had a stand (you can read an article about it below).

Finally, yesterday we were at the Plugg Conference 2010 to participate to the Plugg Start Up Rally. Getyoo had been selected as one of the 20 finalist elected out of a total of 116 companies.

Each of the 20 participants to the competition had to make a 2 minutes elevator pitch in order to be selected as one of the 3 finalists who would each have a 10 minutes pitch to convince the jury and the audience. Here’s a link to watch Geoffroy Simon’s, Getyoo COO and Co-founder, elevator pitch. (start at 5min10 if you want to get directly to Geoffroy’s pitch). We didn’t make it to the final but were very close. It was a real pleasure for us to be there. We’ve met many interesting people and discovered a lot of very creative and innovative start ups.

The winner of the Plugg 2010 edition is Fits.me, a virtual fitting room for online clothing retailers. They use robotic mannequins to mimic the shape and size of the customer and show the customer photos of the mannequin wearing different sizes of clothing.

The other 2 finalists were Distimo, an app store analytics tool for mobile developers and Inbox 2, a message management desktop client for Windows. Raz War got the Audience Award for their very unusual and creative way of approaching the razor market. They sell their razors through a website as a SaaS solution - Shaving as a Service ;)

As you can see, we’ve been doing quite a lot recently and it’s just starting. We still have many events to come such as The Salon Entreprendre Ondernemen in Brussels on the 31st of March and 1st of April. You can already read an article in Bizz Magazine (French) concerning Getyoo’s presence at Salon Entreprendre. Another event will be the EBS - European Business Summit on the 30ths of June and 1st of July. More info to come on those two events.

We will also soon announce the public release, so stay tuned!

Getyoo Internet of Things Presentation @WIF Belgium (In French)

A presentation made by Marie du Chastel, Getyoo’s Communication Executive, about the Internet of Things. It was at the Belgian Webdesign International Festival in Namur on the 5th of February 2010 wif-dogstudio.be/

The concept was an Ignite presentation: a talk that is exactly five minutes long using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds.
